A sign for our reading corner

Mila, Niko, and Eva are in the art room. They are making a sign for a new reading corner. Mila is painting a moon. Niko is writing big blue letters. He is good at lettering. Eva needs a small brush. She looks under the table, but it is not there. “Look in the yellow cup,” says Mila. The cup is next to a pile of paper. Eva finds the brush in the cup. Now she is painting three stars. The friends smile. Their sign is ready.

You need not know every word immediately. First find the characters, the place, and the problem. In the story below, look for the small brush and what the friends are doing.

What is happening right now?

Is painting and are making describe actions happening now. The pattern is am/is/are + an ing form: I am reading. She is painting. They are making a sign.

Support an answer with the text

For Where, look for a place. For Who, look for a person. If a statement contradicts the story, mark it false and write the correct sentence. If the text does not say something, do not present a guess as a fact.

Worked examples

The answer appears near the end of the story.
