Devices around us

Computers, tablets, and mobile phones are ICT devices. ICT means information and communication technology. These devices help us receive, process, and send information.

Data comes in different forms

The number of pupils in a classroom is numerical data. A pupil's name written in letters is text data. Photos, recorded voices, and videos are also data.

An everyday example

You write a message on a tablet, add a photo of a drawing, and send it. The message contains text and an image. The device helped you share them with another person.

Try it yourself

Find an example of a number, text, an image, and sound on a device you use. You do not need to send or enter anything on this page.
